Re-roofing under solar means panels come off first, the roof is finished, then panels go back with properly flashed mounts and a tested system. Coordinating the solar crew and roofer avoids idle days on both sides.
Basic sequence
- Confirm roofing dates and weather windows
- De-energize, label, remove, and store panels/hardware
- Roofer completes underlayment and covering
- Reinstall mounts with sealed penetrations, reconnect, test monitoring

With panels off, some owners replace an aging inverter or add critter guards. Ask about bundling before the removal day.
